emeraldfox#5928
I am here to advocate for more accessible sitters (cheaper, easier to acquire) and/or a simplification of the sitter system! Me and my friends have been taking care of our cats from before the update that overhauled the previous pets and gave all the new features. Since then, though, we have found it exponentially harder to take care and keep our cats. Maybe the higher pricing and sitters divided by need was something that the developers saw as a necessity to maintain engagement, but now me and my friends can't keep a pet for longer than a couple weeks tops (as we cant always check the server every day and don't have enough points to buy three sitters every week) and i feel its unnecessary to have such a demanding requirement. What I would suggest is either merging the sitters into one purchase so its less of a hassle to buy all three as well as making the unit cheaper, or simply lowering the price of all three so its more feasible to upkeep pets with lower necessary engagement. Of course, there Should be a punishment for low engagement, but its saddening that me and my friends can no longer keep our old pets alive and not have to stress about losing them constantly u__u I'm not sure how many others deal with this issue (LMK what you think!), but I feel it would definitely encourage more long-term engagement in general! Moderators lilcat#0001 Posted March 30, 2021 Moderators Share Posted March 30, 2021 In my opinion, pets are pretty easy to look after, you can skip a day or two and they won't run away (the system has been tweaked since it was first released and you might find that pets take longer to run away now), so I don't see the need for carers at all. That being said, I personally don't think the prices for carers should be lowered considering the service they provide, you could just use the nursery if credits are an issue. emeraldfox#5928
How does the nursery work? Do you put pets in and take them out whenever? I see a pet in there actually, but i dont see any prompts to interact with them nor anything in the t!help menu that would specify otherwise :O And yeah, if you're active that doesn't seem to be a problem! I suppose I got comfortable with the luxury of not being active on discord for a few days with an active sitter and coming back to my pet still alive and fine and being able to interact with them instead of losing them and having to pay for another pet :( Edited March 30, 2021 by emeraldfox#5928
Staff Esja#0001 Posted April 2, 2021 Staff Share Posted April 2, 2021 Personally, the reason I don't really engage with Tatsugotchi is because I can't be bothered to take care of them and would rather they not run away due to my negligence. I would find it interesting if I could purchase a "Sitter Subscription." Basically, your credits would be charged on a recurring basis to keep sitters topped up.

Even with paying for a sitter every week, it can even be a pain/hard to remember to come back exactly 7 days afterward to renew the sitter so your pet doesn't run away... although the new daycare update is real nice and might help make keeping pets without daily interaction easier, something like this would STILL be extremely beneficial! :O EDIT: it turns out, putting an active pet into the nursery costs 2k credits, so the daycare definitely Won't act as a good substitute for the sitter alternative, considering the price you'd have to pay every time you would want to take your pet out, interact with it, and put it back in... I absolutely stand by your suggestion of a sitter subscription, i really love that!! And I'm glad I'm not the only one daunted by the amount of interaction a pet needs in order for it to not run away LOL Edited April 4, 2021 by emeraldfox#5928
